Tamburellisti di Torrepaduli
Lecce, Italy
The Tamburellisti of Torrepaduli are among the most loved and appreciated musicians of the Apulian tradition. Since they were the first to re-evaluate Pizzica in 1990, their albums met a great public and critical approval and marked a decisive turning point in Apulian and Italian popular music: "Fantastica pizzica" (1991) "Pizzica e trance" (1995), "Pizzica & Rinascita" (2000), "Il tempo della taranta: pizzica d’autore" (2003), "To palèo cerò: pizzica grika" (2006), "Taranta Taranta" (2009), "La via della taranta" (2013), "La via dell’armonia: pizzica d'autore" (2020). During their career they have played all over the world: Greece, Albania, Germany, Montenegro, Austria, Switzerland, Hungary, Canada, Poland, Australia and in Taiwan's China. Companies of Greek dancers and even the Red Indians of the Dakota danced on their music. In 2019 they performed in the famous "Cortile della Pigna" in the Vatican Gardens. They are currently on tour to promote their latest album.
